Business Development and Marketing Manager
THE ROLE
As a Business Development and Marketing Manager at Works Design, you will significantly impact our studio by establishing and implementing a business development strategy (e.g., identifying sector, service and client opportunities), leading many of our pursuits (e.g., initial meetings, pitch decks, long-form written proposals, project-specific client presentations), and establishing and implementing our business development-related marketing strategy (e.g., social media, digital marketing, blogs, trends research, events) that prioritizes industry awareness, subject matter expertise and world-class service.
THE DAY-TO-DAY
- Establishing and implementing a marketing strategy that promotes awareness of our core service offerings and grows our sales funnel
- Tracking monthly sales and ensuring that quarterly targets are achieved, including updating and pivoting marketing techniques (as needed)
- Proactively searching, evaluating, developing and managing all RFP, RFQ and RFI inquiries
- Maintaining our CRM system to ensure leads are properly documented and kept up-to-date
- Monitoring the competitive landscape and ensuring the continued relevance of Work Design
- Creating and maintaining sales and marketing collateral to ensure that services and examples are up-to-date and relevant
- Identifying and attending key networking events, conferences or partnership opportunities to promote awareness
- Creating a smooth onboarding process for new clients and project teams, as well as following up with all new clients at the end of their first project to ensure satisfaction and improvement (if needed)
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in marketing, communications or a related field
- 3–5 years’ experience managing business development and marketing in professional services
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- General understanding of corporate disclosure requirements, brand identity development and the digital ecosystem as they pertain to corporate communications
- Experience working within a creative environment (bonus)

Project Manager
THE ROLE
As a project manager at Works Design, you are a key member of the account team, blending the higher-level strategy of account direction with the detailed problem-solving of day-to-day project management. Managing the conflict between these two parts of your job will be key to your success.
THE DAY-TO-DAY
- Preparing quotes, briefs, estimates, proposals, schedules and invoices
- Participating in client and internal meetings and presentations
- Delegating tasks to a team of design, web and print production specialists
- Obtaining approvals and sign-offs both internally and from clients
- Communicating project objectives and scope to design, development and production teams
- Facilitating decisions and encouraging cooperation in a fast-paced environment
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Minimum three years managing online and print projects in a busy agency environment
- Must have experience with projects in an agency setting across our main practice areas (stakeholder communications, brand and collateral development)

- Proficiency in organizing and orchestrating complex projects
- Ability to juggle multiple (and competing) clients, projects and priorities

ARE THERE ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS?
Our workload fluctuates throughout the year, and sometimes we are very busy. Some overtime and late nights are to be expected. Our current working environment is considered “flexible,” which means you may work from home or the office, depending on your preference. This role may require a few days a week in the office for training purposes.
